Long Live Books

With all the new technology replacing our old ways of life it makes me long for the old simpler lifestyle. I love bookstores and libraries. I adore walking in them to be entirely surrounded by books, cozy nooks, and the feeling of serenity. Nothing beats the smells of books old and new. It seems like books are a dying breed. To be replaced by electronic devices. Library cards, books as gifts, and paper flipping to take a dirt nap. Breaks my heart. I still prefer little book stores compared to mega stores. There are still a few independent stores open. Nothing better than to pick up a book, have a cup of tea, and recharge from the worlds constant fast paced way of living. Something so charming as going into a place filled with novels. I have just gotten back into a routine of reading. Makes me feel so courageous to finish a book and to think over the stories I just digested. I love to buy books. I may not read them all, but I get a kick out of it every time. I am planning on getting them all a lovely nook inside my head someday, but one book at a time. I implore you to support your local library and bookstore. Take your children into a world of discovery by taking them there on the weekends. Make it a family affair to open books together. Give books as gifts. Also the library is FREE!!! All those books and even movies to rent at no cost. Beat that redbox or netflix... Sure they are old movies, but they are just as charming like the books your surrounded by. Read on America, read on!

Space the final frontier

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Neil Armstrong. His mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Neil Armstrong... American, space enthusiast, moon walker.
If you could put on your resume first man to walk on the moon, your life would be made in the shade.

Could you even conceive of the enormity of what he has done. He brought forth a whole slew of enjoyed space oriented TV shows. Little did he know that few small steps for man would lead towards a giant leap of Captain Kirk mankind.

All joking aside, I take off my space helmet to this guy. He did so much for our country. It is sad that our current leader has decided to shut down a lot of NASA and its programs.

Neil Armstrong, we as a nation have lost a great man and one of the last remaining explorers.

Live long and prosper

Higher Love

Everyone needs a look, a word, and a touch. From our heavenly Father and from one another. May our commitment to God be as great as our commitment to our church and to one another in it. Crazy love for our devotion to God and for each other. Sharing in our deepest desires to crave closeness with our holy Father. It is our responsibility to tend to and kindle the fires in our churches. People need to be fed, watered, and to grow. We are to care for the seeds that truth might grow. To quote Francis Chan, "Without action and fruit all the theology in the world has little meaning." May I be used as a vessel to honor His name and serve others that they grow stronger in their faith. May I be known for bringing a light to others that they may know Him.Thank you Lord for working on my heart. To hunger for your love and a desire to give that love to others. May I have one hand towards heaven and one hand towards your people.

Praying without ceasing

May we be so devoted prayer. Constant connection with our heavenly Father. Lifting up our voices to the one who yearns just to be close to us. Imagine all the amount of attention we place towards Facebook, TV, Twitter, & Texting. Can you imagine if we instead focus it all towards spending time with God in prayer. I always say there isn't enough time. Yet I always have time to spend numerous times in the day to stay connected with my phone. May I strive to have a heart more connected to His presence & make the rest just a hobby.

Life is good!

My last blog, ok eons ago. Changes, yep like a bazillion. A lot will happen in one year.

First of all by the grace of God my love of my life is healthy. He has not been in a hospital for over one year. I am praying he stays on his high health streak. You can't imagine the thrill of having good health. For the longest time I thought for sure I was going to loose him. God is good!

Secondly I have quit my job for over six years to journey on a new voyage in my beloved ophthalmology field. I have moved on up to become a surgical coordinator. My new digs are very thrilling. It is great to use my old noggin again and to give the hamster on the squeaky wheel in its place a rest.

Thirdly after much searching of the heart and spirit, I have a church!!!
I was just about to give up. My honey and I were both wanting to get our lives back on track especially after his bad health for over three years. No matter how you slice it, you cannot do this walk alone. This place has been our rescue. Our lives have been turned around and we are grateful from the bottom of our hearts. The word "awesome" has brought new breath of life to it. My church is called Alamo Ranch Community Church. If you are searching for something please seek Him out and then find us!

Fourthly (excuse all the caps) I AM ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!
Yes after being head over heals in love with my fella for ten years, I am proud to say I will becoming his wife. Nothing I will hold more dear to my heart is to see his face as I am walking down the aisle towards him to say I do! I love you to the moon and back!

Life has been great. I can hold my head high, smile, and praise God for making it so!
My new focus is serving the Lord, making wedding plans, and getting healthy... Oh yeah weight loss is going to be a huge goal - hello wedding dress ahhhhhhh!

Thank you all to those you read this, the writings of a fantastic gal in love with life.
