I am a weary soliderDaily fighting to fulfill the needs of patients.Hearing their complaints, anger, & frustrations... Wondering where is the joy???Wounded by their constant negativity.Yes, I am worn and tattered.Trying my hardest to help & still treated as the dirt they tread.Praying my positive energy & happiness transfers to enlighten their harden hearts.Every morning I gear myself up for the battles I will face.Wondering how people have become so cold towards their fellow man.Good morning, how are you, thank you, your welcome - phrases either heard with no response or are rarely in use. Trying to become accustomed to grunts, sighs, or emotionless responses.Scary to see hatred spread like wild fire. On the rarity when what we call speech and courtesy are used, I am shocked with delight. Has the art of being humane becoming a dying breed?I vow to keep smiling, greeting with every ounce I have left, and lending my hand perhaps to change the hearts of others. Living life now has become hard during our recent time, but keep your chins up and smile.... You will realize just making those steps will help you through your days in life and at work.... Spread this good Karma around :)
The Youngbloods - Get Together
Love is but the song we sing,
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Know the dove is on the wing
And you need not know why
C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now
Some will come and some will go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moments sunlight
Fading in the grass
C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now
If you hear the song I sing,
You must understand
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command
C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now
Right nowRight now!
